Plant
Your class plants a seedling on school grounds, a reserve or a partner site. Any species native to your region.
A new business from Baracon Group
Every tree a student plants gets a record: species, place, growth, and what it gives back. GreenRoots is the national registry for Australian schools — five dollars a tree, and a lifetime of proof it exists.
How it works
The registry is deliberately simple, because the point is the tree, not the software. A teacher registers the planting; the student gets a record they can come back to in ten years and find again.

Five dollars registers the tree. Photo, species, location, and the class that planted it — attached to a permanent record.
Height and health are logged each term. Students see growth against the species' expected curve, not a generic number.
At year's end the school receives an impact statement: carbon absorbed, canopy added, biodiversity supported. Yours to publish.
For schools
Built for Years 6–8 and mapped to the Australian Curriculum: Science and Geography. A class dashboard, curriculum-aligned lesson notes, and no cost to the school — the $5 is paid by the family or a sponsor.
Hi friend! It’s me, your tree. Thanks for planting me — I’m so happy to grow with you. This month I’ve grown to 60 cm, and my roots are getting stronger.

Impact
Every figure in a GreenRoots report traces to a tree on the register: species, age, location and the allometric equations used to estimate carbon. No offsets sold, no estimates dressed as measurements.
Partners
Schools, councils, landcare groups and sponsors. A partner can fund registrations for a region, host a planting site, or underwrite the platform — each with a named line in the annual impact report.
Register a class, plant on grounds, and build a living record the school keeps.
Nominate sites, supply seedlings, and see every planting mapped in your municipality.
Fund $5 registrations for low-income schools, with reporting against your ESG commitments.
